 Instead of the art of sewing this week, I've found myself knee deep in flowers once again.  Making a new fall wreath for my front door. And wedding bouquets for my brother's wedding this weekend. Augusts blocks in Simply Strings was 4- 6.5" string blocks sewn on a slight curve using our own scraps.  4 squares will be sewn together, but she wants a real scrappy look so she plans to mix them all up before sewing 4 blocks together.   The final baby quilt to be sent off to a store in Texas.  They're all boxed up and ready to ship!  And a bucket bag with fun owls for a custom order.

Our strawberries became... Popsicles made of fresh strawberries, whole milk and honey. Jam!  The first time I've made real honest to goodness, sweet and yummy, sticky and oh so gooey JAM! Oh how I loved it!  Much easier then I expected and so rewarding looking at all those jars.  I only made one batch since I wasn't sure how it would turn out.  I would do a little tweaking to the recipe next

I had planned on making two more quilts, but with all the other things I still had on my list to make I figured quilts aren't a selling item at the show since they are more expensive, so I just made one more.  I'm in love with this one, I think I want to make a larger one for myself, but with different fabrics.    Pebble quilting...  I'll leave you with one more photo of my little guy :) I

We are getting out the swim suits...  Enjoying baseball games (Jackson's first!)  Visiting new places in our town...  Bethlehem Steel (blast furnaces pictured above) where you can now find the new Artsquest building, with concerts, festivals, farmers market, and more.  Gathering with family for the holiday...  and finding every way possible to keep cool these hot summer like days!
