The Nursery and Our Bedroom (Before and After).

The Nursery Before....
Well this is the dressing room space of our bedroom, sort of like a walk in closet but with no doors.  I couldn't find a picture of this area when it was actually just a dressing room... with dressers and shoe cubbies, but it once was.   Then it became my sewing room for about 2 years which is what you see here, and now it's our nursery for the new babe.

 Our bedroom before the makeover...

The After!

Nursery...

Narwhal Love...
 Decal found here.

 Whale Love and fabric...
We fell head over heals in love with this whale at my Christmas craft show, but I hesitated on buying him for too long and someone else snatched him up :(  Luckily Liz makes custom orders although her pieces are mostly originals, but she made this guy as similar to the one I had seen and loved.  I'm so happy with him, I think he looks great above the crib and don't you just love his little barnacles!  I'll have to get a close up photo of him at some point, the detail is just awesome!!

Our Bedroom...  we're so glad we gave our room a facelift especially since we will be sharing the room with the baby it's nice to treat yourself too!

These next photos were taken before the Narwhal arrived, but it was a really sunny day (it was cloudy and rainy out when I took the above photos) and with the new light filtering blinds we added to the room, we're are just loving the beautiful amount of natural light we get without having to open the blinds.

The curtains I made by doctoring up some simple store bought white panels ($10 a panel) and adding a strip of yellow and white chevron home decor weight fabric.  We weren't sure if we wanted any curtains, but since there is a lot of light in here we wanted something to help mute it for the baby if needed.  The curtains ended up making the room feel more like it's own room and added such a softness we needed.  Plus Andy says they add a 60's vibe which is pretty cool too :)

Hope you enjoyed the tour, we find ourselves in here all day now because we just love the feel this room has and the abundance of sunlight.  Even Jackson has ended up in bed with me at 5 in the morning more then twice since the room has been completed, looks like everyone is enjoying this new space, can't wait to see a baby in this room!
